Answer:Any time you open HOT water during Shabbat or Yom Tov, cold municipal water goes into the hot water tank and pushes the hot water out, in effect cooking the cold water That is not allowed. Question:What should I do? Answer:Either:A: Close the hot water at the water heater B: Get the AMNON18 Question:What does the Amnon18 do? Answer:Prior to shabbat, the computer, signals the valves, pump and drain to lower the water temperature to “allowable non cooking temperature”. Question:What is ‘allowable non cooking temperature”? Answer:It depends if your Ashkenazi or Sephardic, your community or rabbi. Question:Who does that matter? Answer:The Amnon18 was designed to be flexible, if your allowable max temperature is 100 degree or 105 109. depending on your customs, background, rabbi. Question:Will the hot water heater go on on Shabbat? Answer:The Amnon18 was designed to be flexible, some communicates don’t want it to go on, and some do. If it does go on, its random and up to the temperature set. Question:When does the water go back on after Shabbat? Answer:It depends on your Halachic preference: Tzait, R’ Tam Question:Is it really that flexible?
